Vonyx 1000W Pro

The Vonyx 1000W Professional Dual System is Melbourne's best speaker hire option for wide venues. Two speakers deliver 1000W of combined output from opposite sides of the room — ensuring every guest hears the same quality sound regardless of where they're seated. Ideal for wide function halls, marquees, sit-down wedding receptions, and any space where a single speaker placed in one corner won't reach every corner evenly.

When to Choose the Vonyx Over the JBL 710

The key question is: what shape is your venue? For a standard backyard, living room, or small hall where the crowd is gathered in one area in front of the speaker, the JBL PartyBox 710 is the better choice — it has more bass impact and the built-in light show.

But if your venue is wide — a long rectangular reception hall, a marquee set up across the width of a property, or a hall where guests are seated on multiple sides — a single speaker in one corner will sound great at the front and barely audible at the back. The Vonyx dual system solves this by splitting the output across two speakers, one on each side of the room.

This also makes the Vonyx the preferred choice for sit-down dinners where speech clarity matters as much as music volume — every guest hears the speeches and toasts without anyone being blasted at the front.

Vonyx 1000W Setup Guide

1
Position both speakers
Place the two speakers on opposite sides of the room or at the front corners of your venue. Aim them toward the main guest area. Each speaker needs to be within reach of a 240V wall outlet.
2
Connect & power on
Connect the cable between the two speakers (the Vonyx uses a master-slave setup — one speaker controls both). Plug both power cables into the wall and switch on.
3
Pair Bluetooth
Open Bluetooth on your phone and select the Vonyx speaker from the list. Pair exactly as you would headphones. The AUX cable is also included for a wired connection.
4
Add microphone (if hired)
Plug the wireless mic receiver into the Mic input on the master speaker rear panel. Turn on the receiver, then the microphone. Pair is automatic. Adjust mic gain to 50% and increase to taste.

Vonyx 1000W Hire — FAQ

When should I choose the Vonyx over the JBL PartyBox 710?
Choose the Vonyx 1000W when your venue is wide rather than compact. Wide halls, marquees, and rooms where guests are spread across a large area benefit from two speakers positioned on opposite sides for even coverage. For compact venues and house parties where guests are grouped together, the JBL PartyBox 710 delivers more bass impact and includes the built-in light show.
Does the Vonyx 1000W work for wedding speeches?
Yes, and it's especially well-suited for wide wedding reception rooms. Add our wireless microphone kit ($20/day) and plug the receiver into the mic input. With two speakers covering opposite sides, every guest hears speeches and toasts clearly — no more guests at the back straining to hear.
How wide a venue can the Vonyx 1000W cover?
With two speakers on opposite sides, the Vonyx effectively covers rooms up to approximately 20 metres wide and 15 metres deep — enough for most Melbourne function halls and marquees. For larger outdoor venues, contact us to discuss your specific setup.
Does the Vonyx 1000W need a power outlet?
Yes, each speaker requires its own 240V wall outlet. You need two power points — one for each speaker unit. Both need to be within reach of a standard extension cord. For outdoor events without mains power, two 240V outlets from an inverter generator are required.
Can the Vonyx 1000W play wirelessly from my phone?
Yes. The Vonyx connects via Bluetooth — open your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair exactly as you would with headphones. An AUX cable is also included in the hire for a wired connection.
